The Picnic
One sunny day in Spring Valley the Scarecrow was busy saving birds then scaring them away, which is a weird thing to do, but he’s a weird a scarecrow!
As it was a lovely day, Jack and the Scarecrow decided to invite all their friends for a picnic. The Scarecrow volunteered to make the food - his favourite marmalade sandwiches. Unfortunately, the Scarecrow didn't know the difference between superglue and marmalade!
Everyone except Jack wanted to try the Scarecrow's delicious marmalade sandwiches. When they bit into them, the glue stuck their mouths fast.
Luckily, a friend of Granny Raven flew over them. He was a Bird Doctor. Granny Raven pointed with her wing and everyone made as much noise as they could to attract the Bird Doctor's attention. He flew down and asked what the matter was. Jack explained what had happened and the Doctor said "I have dealt with this sort of thing before and I am fully qualified to get you out of this sticky situation."
First he dealt with the Scarecrow. He carefully took a knife from his doctor's bag and cut a small hole in the Scarecrow's cheek."Stay still. Don't move or this will hurt'" the doctor said.
"Goodness me! Who made these sandwiches?" the Scarecrow asked when he could talk again.
"You!" Jack replied.
The Bird Doctor went round squeezing everyone's faces to squash out the glue.
At the end, they all decided that the Scarecrow would never make the sandwiches again!
