		<description>A very interesting thought - I had been thinking along these lines myself (although not as articulately as you!). Its only since I stepped outside the school system it has occured to me how mad a lot of it is. My brother seems very concerned about the fact that my daughter isn't learning all the vital stuff on the NC, as if thats what is essential for all children to know - never mind all the other interesting stuff in the world that they might actually want to know about!
