An everyday story of official stupidity

So, a home educator asks for funding for her 14 year old son to take a BTEC in Music (the FE college having said they’ll take him) and Lincolnshire County Council offers him … a regular school place. Year 10 in a secondary school vs FE College. Bunch of GCSEs vs BTEC. How are these things even remotely comparable?! As if that wasn’t bad enough their “interim strategic manager for inclusion” sounds like she thinks she’s done them a favour “a mainstream school place has been found for him”! Errr, Hello? Don’t you think they’d have asked for a school place if that’s what they wanted?

The DCSF want to give intellectually challenged Muppets like this power over our children’s education? I think not!

Row over college funding goes to watchdog

  1. Very shortsighted of them. Doing what was requested would cost them the FE college fees. Doing what they want to do would cost them those fees plus the cost of a school place for a year or two.
