Do you think they’d accept this educational plan?
Last night Audrey sat down during Country File and drew up a list of things she would like us to make.
See, it’s even got tick boxes! I have to say that I don’t recall any fried tuber or root vegetable slices let alone chocolate chip cookies featuring in either Tales from the Green Valley or Victorian Farm, but I’m going to let that pass
Oh, and yes we ARE going to make beer, it’s very sciencey and granddad will be happy to consume the results, as long as they aren’t dreadful.
Butter making
Today’s Tales from the Green Valley included butter making, so straight after watching it we were down to the kitchen and out with the pot of cream and an empty honey jar. Audrey took her own photos during production so all I have to offer from my camera is a quick snap of the finished result after some had been tested on toast.
My ‘naff off’ letter
Just thought I’d share
In reply to your last letter, you are in error, you do not in fact “have to ask” me for information about the education I am providing for my daughter. Your legal duty to make enquiries exists only if you have reason to believe that I am failing in my Section 7 duties. If you have specific concerns that lead you to believe that this is the case I will address them. Otherwise, in light of the current situation with regard to EHE policy both locally and nationally I have no intention of co-operating with any ultra vires requests.
An everyday story of official stupidity
So, a home educator asks for funding for her 14 year old son to take a BTEC in Music (the FE college having said they’ll take him) and Lincolnshire County Council offers him … a regular school place. Year 10 in a secondary school vs FE College. Bunch of GCSEs vs BTEC. How are these things even remotely comparable?! As if that wasn’t bad enough their “interim strategic manager for inclusion” sounds like she thinks she’s done them a favour “a mainstream school place has been found for him”! Errr, Hello? Don’t you think they’d have asked for a school place if that’s what they wanted?
The DCSF want to give intellectually challenged Muppets like this power over our children’s education? I think not!
Everything I need to say I learned from Futurama
Back before Ed Balls accepted the recommendations of the Badman report I’d probably have knocked up an Ed Phil to send to our LA. Not necessary, but you know, for a quiet life and with the clear understanding that it would have been all they were going to get, no annual monitoring rubbish. That was also before the doorstepping incident, which pushed me from politically stirred up and pissed off to really, REALLY pissed off.
Now? Well now I’m not going to play their stupid games at all. Balls hasn’t changed the law yet so they can just …

"Bite my shiny metal ass!"
