BBC = Balls Broadcasting Corp
If you thought that the web site article from earlier was bad, hold on to your hat because the lead item on the BBC News at 6 this evening was WORSE. If you were to believe them you would think that Khyra Ishaq died because she was home educated and the measures in the CSF Bill would have saved her. I’ll let that sink in for a moment.
Yes, it IS a big fat LIE.
Yes, the BBC must know that.
They have access to exactly the same information as we do, maybe even more. Despite that they have followed the DCSF spin so slavishly that you’d think that one of Ed Balls’ few literate minions wrote the whole thing for them.
I have complained as I did for the earlier web site slander, this time following Hecate’s advice as the TV item so clearly broke the Broadcasting Code with relation to “Matters of major political or industrial controversy and major matters relating to current public policy”. The CSF Bill has just gone over to the Lords for goodness sake!
5.12 In dealing with matters of major political and industrial controversy and major matters relating to current public policy an appropriately wide range of significant views must be included and given due weight in each programme or in clearly linked and timely programmes. Views and facts must not be misrepresented.
Am I angry? I’ll tell you how angry. I just joined the Conservatives. Oh yes indeedy, THAT angry.

I just joined the Conservatives. I understand why you would do that but I don’t believe that the Conservatives support Home Education any more than Labour and in fact that their main support with regard to Education is within the private sector, just look at where the majority of the Shadow Cabinet were educated - I think they are called The Eton Mafia. Because HE is high in the public profile at the moment they are using it as a vote winner but I do not believe they will repeal any laws that are passed - this a very rare thing. I understand your concerns but please don’t be misled. It is very difficult when you have young children because you have a long way to go in their learnng, we are lucky in that our son is nearly 14 so the harm they can do to us is limited.
We had threats from our LEA for a long time (we have a School Attendance Order - (subsequently revoked, which we were very disappointed about because we were firm in our course of action) signed by Alan Johnson the then Secretary State of Education but we held fast, resisted their unreasonable demands and stood by our values and beliefs (I don’t mean religous) - perhaps more by luck than by judgement but that doesn’t make it wrong. The important thing for us is that our son is happy and doing the things that he enjoys - some are things he would learn at school others aren’t. Please remember what is the most important thing - that is your chldren and their happiness.
I did notice yesterday when the debate over the Childrens Bill was taking place Ed Balls was prancing around trying to attract peoples’ attention - why I’m not quite sure but suspect other’s will come to their own conclusions!In January 2009 he agreed with Baroness Morgan in her statement that HE could be a cover for abuse, he seems to be very keen on covering up things - what else is he hiding?
Be strong believe in yourself , don’t rely on the Conservatives — they won’t help you if we can help you just let us know.
Take care
Peter

The thing with the Conservatives, the BIG thing, is that they have LISTENED and they have LEARNED and been open to a change of view. None of the MPs who have become staunch supporters of home education started off knowing much about it. Don’t kid yourself, we ARE a tiny minority and supporting us will not win them very many votes, nothing compared to the amount of work we represent and I doubt there is even one seat where HE votes will make a difference on their own. Michael Gove has PROMISED to stop Clauses 26 & 27 of the CSF Bill and to me at least that commitment means a lot.

in the run up to the 1979 election Mrs Margaret Thatcher made a lot of promises about mass immigration and how she would stop the flow of people from abroad from coming to UK.She did this to get the anti immigration vote but Mrs Thatcher or the conservatives never stoped the mass flow of people to UK indeed some would say she helped speed it up!
Ed Balls a front runner to succeed Mr Brown has also been holding meeting and has sent out direct mail and questionnaires on immigration to his newly created Morley and Outwood constituency his yorkishere constituency is a fwrtile breeding ground for the BNP it already has one councillor and hundreds of members.
some would say Ed is only doing this in an attempt to hang on to his seat because before this he vote every time in the house to carry on with immigration and brushed aside peoples worry over jobs pressure on services!
these 2 examples show that you just can not trust them to keep they word over any thing and i do not belive the conservatives will be any diferent once in power your find they forget all about home educators and just carry on in the same way!
