  1. why is Mr Gove M.P so quiet about home education?

  2. Don’t complain. The last thing we need is the government showing undue interest in Home Ed. I’d be perfectly happy for them to quietly forget all about us, permanently.

  3. my guess is Mr M Gove M.P is being got at by civil servants from the education department they be telling him why we must have more control over home educators

those civil servant wont let it go all quiet you can have change of government but the same senior civil servants are still in the education derpartment and it was them that started all of this.

  4. They can argue until they’re blue in the face but the bottom line is, they don’t have the money. Right now they’re facing major cuts, bye bye school building plan :-)

The very last thing that they’ll be getting is money to introduce new and totally unnecessary regulation over a minority group particularly one which has proved itself to be far too much trouble.

  5. you may well be right. but those civil servants will keep trying to get a change in law on home education! and if because of the cuts that is all that was stoping them that is not good? at some point UK will be in a better postion they start it all up again! i think it is coming from europe who would have thought it would be against the law to sell in pounds in weight!?

it is often claimed that is civil servants who run the government and M.P’s just do what they tell them! will Gove say his own civil servants are wrong? you watch them at meeting they often just refer to civil servants for advice!
